One place where you stored all of your data; one place where the services and people with whom you choose to share your info can rent or borrow your data; and they agree to abide by your rules. And when you want to switch services it’s simple and all your data just appears in the new app.
ONE a global user-owned data platform upon which users can build mutually beneficial services. It’s really a social movement inside a tech company. Building this solution is not difficult technically, all of these services already exist, they are just not set up to your advantage. For most of these services you are the product – they are selling you to advertisers. They offer you a “free” service so that you give them something much more valuable, information they can sell to advertisers.
Don’t get stuck in any “ecosystem” except the ONE you own! Your data is valuable, just ask Google and Facebook!
This really is a social movement so we need you to sign up with your email address and first name. That’s it. Let’s not let a few people decide what happens with the future.
The main driver of change will be member/owners. How many people are interested in doing things differently. but there is no point spending the time and money to build the platform unless the community to use it exists. That why we need your commitment now. Sign up and together we can flip the system on its head.
Our goal is to make the individual the center of their world and make sure the community owns the digital infrastructure of the future.
Instead of creating accounts with every new service that comes along, what if you could just grant permission at the level you feel comfortable. Everything will be clear so you know exactly what access you are giving and how it will be used. We will have lawyers and engineers to make sure that you are protected.
We already are! Companies currently pay google and facebook to get to you; with ONE they will pay you to reach you. And it will be on terms that are mutually beneficial.
There are two issues we will solve: technical and legal
Technical: With ONE your data is stored in a way that any app on your platform can use it. If you switch apps your data comes with you – instantly available in your new app. This is actually the easy part. We aren’t inventing anything new; just changing the way companies access our information. We are thankful for the trailblazers of the 1990’s and 2000’s for jumping in and creating exciting new things on the brand new World Wide Web. We thank them but we don’t believe that just because they were in the right place at the right time and saw the opportunity that they should forever own our future. We are not into a new rent-seeking digital aristocracy. We want to continue the exciting and open web where anyone with a good idea can succeed. We all know that the large new media platforms are trying to own the underlying foundation of future commerce and even our personal relationships. So technically we can hire our own engineers to build a new user owned platform. But we can’t do it without lots of members who are committed to a different future. Join us in this fight for a free, secure and open future.

Legal: With ONE you will own your data and together we will dictate the terms of service rather than blindly agreeing to what companies put in front of us. Together we can reshape the digital landscape. How ONE is owned will be an evolving process but I can promise that I will not be the next Mark Zuckerberg. I will not own this; the users will. Only real people can open a primary account. And you can pass it along to your heirs. It’s yours.
